Over 3 million children in Pakistan suffer from blindness and visual impairment and their conditions remain untreated because their families cannot afford the necessary treatment. As a result, children are slower to develop cognitive skills and are often excluded from education, missing out on many childhood activities. Providing a pair of glasses for a child can reduce the odds of failing by 44%.

Every child deserves opportunities to learn, develop and realise their full potential. We treat about 300,000 children each year, including eye screening programmes that help to identify and treat vision problems early to ensure every child has the right to sight.

Seeing again

Shayaan had very poor eyesight since he was born but the cost of treatment was more than his father could afford. LRBT’s paediatric eye care service provide free cataract surgery in both eyes and now Shayaan can see again.

Your support can provide a brighter future for Pakistan’s children.
